Darcy:

Hey, Huck.

Huck:

Hey. What's going on? Yeah. Welcome back. Yeah. Yeah. What are we talking about today? Jesus Christ Darce.

Darcy:

Today I want to talk to you about the newly finished Christmas print, Saint Cataclysms and The Giant Rat.

Huck:

You want me to talk about like why a Christmas print? Why do you wanna know?

Darcy:

Shut up.

Huck:

Why are you asking me that? Uh, okay.

Darcy:

Is it to honor the wee baby Jesus?

Huck:

It's to honor the wee baby Jesus. Um, I, I. The, the end of the year is always a very financially trying time. And years ago it was especially financially trying and I had done a couple of Christmas prints. I think I did a screen print once and then I think I did a linoleum cut another time. This is going way back, and we would offer 'em for sale out of the shop. And it always was a great thing. And then while the end of the year is always a financially trying time, it's also an extremely busy time and there's a lot of stuff going on. And so this year, now that I'm settled in the spider hole space. My days are more scripted with, they're just normal regular work days, and I've also had to get used to working on multiple things at one time. The reason I got out of doing Christmas prints was because I was just so damn busy around that time of year. This year I decided that we needed to do it again because they're fun. It's also. A cool thing to, that's my stomach. It's a cool thing to offer something affordable for the holidays and it's a a, a good way of getting more people interested in, in my work that might wanna live with my work for a good price. And so that's really the reason that I do it. And I think. It's, it's an interesting thing to be able to put out a print, say this is when it's available. First come, first serve. That's it. It's truly limited until it's gone. And so what we, we've done with this Christmas print that we've done for 2025 is. We're having the VIP Christmas party, which we have every year. We're gonna make it available to the VIPs for a special price, and then we're gonna make it available to the public the next day between the time hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM at my vault space in St. Louis. You come, you get the print there, and then when they are gone, those prints are gone. And how many are you making? 50. 50 in the edition. 50 in the edition. That's it. There's gonna be a special secret color one, but you have, you can only get that if you see it in person. We're, we're not putting it online, we're not advertising it. If you show up at one of these events, you will see it. And we're not printing a lot of those. We're probably gonna print 15 of those and that's it. So.

Darcy:

Mm-hmm.

Huck:

Also too, there's block wear that gets into my work whenever you get up into 50. Right. So it's gonna be a little tricky, but I think Jacob's gonna be able to pull it off. Yep. So

Darcy:

putting 'em to work.

Huck:

So there, alright,

Darcy:

so we know we're getting this Christmas print now. Tell us what it looks like. Tell us

Huck:

why Do wanna know

Darcy:

what it's about? Well, because the people can't see

Huck:

why do wanna know?

Darcy:

They're just listening.

Huck:

Why do you wanna know

Darcy:

Huck? What are you, why are you answering all the questions with questions? Stop it

Huck:

because I'm being a dick today.

Darcy:

Awesome.

Huck:

All right. So what was the question?

Darcy:

Okay. So now that we know when we can get it and where we can get it down at the vault space in St. Louis. 29. 29 Jefferson, south Jefferson., Explain to the people what it looks like.

Huck:

It is a, the title is called Saint Cataclysms and the Giant Rat, a cat Santa Claus rat hunting with a bag of rats over his shoulder. Posing like Captain Morgan on the cut, like you know the label for the rum. Captain Morgan posing with a giant big rat that he's gotten with a bow on the head of the rat for Christmas. And you may say. What does this have to do with Christmas? And I would say, I don't fucking know. It's just, it's the Christmas print and I like it.

Darcy:

I like that he has a Santa suit on.

Huck:

He does have a Santa suit on.

Darcy:

It's jovial looking.

Huck:

He is jovial. He has a mask on and there is a little bit, there are two levels to this print. The first level, it's sort of holiday themed. The second level is that it is sort of quoting a print that I saw from like, I think it's the 18 hundreds last summer. You know, there are these, one of the good things about social media is that people are always, I'm in groups on there of like old master prints and engravings, or old engravings, all these different groups that post these crazy prints I've never even seen before. Well, I saw this one last summer of this, I think it's a French print. I think it's an anonymous print, but it's of a rat catcher, and that was the dude's job. On the streets of Paris. 'cause they had a lot of rats and it's a guy had a bag of rats and he had little sticks with, oh my gosh, rats on it. And it was beautiful. It was cool. And I, it always stuck in my head. So that's sort of what inspired this image is referencing that print. Um, there is a little bit of an underlying, it's kind of about ice.

Darcy:

I love that. Tell us more.

Huck:

Kind of. Okay. It's not a full on. I was thinking about that a little bit and that's why I put the mask on the cat. Oh, referencing ice. And I don't want it to be like, 'cause rats have a negative connotation to 'em. So it's not completely about ice, but it is in there that. Awfulness of the

Darcy:

reference to the times

Huck:

reference to the times the hunt. I hate it. So, but it's a cynical, it's all cynical, so mm-hmm. And satirical and metaphoric and all, and allegorical and all that shit that I do. Okay. And it's of a small size, so it's like 11 by 15. Uh, so it's manageable for people, right? That want to pick it up. Look, part of what I do is always trying to figure out how to get this stuff out there to people and everyone that knows my stuff. And for those of you that don't necessarily that, well, I've always worked all price ranges, right? I've worked from $10. Prints all the way up to 25 and $30,000 prints, right? I'm a believer that you gotta spread that around because there are different levels of people that might want to get these things. I think that's a very powerful way to get people to connect with your work in a way that might not with others. And I think it's oftentimes a very, appreciated that people can come to your events and get a limited edition thing, or a limited edition print or a, you know, a, a war wiggles or something if they are not in the place to buy a, a triptych. Right. Most people are not in the place to buy one of the big ones. Mm-hmm. And this is a way to get my work to more people. Um, I think that it's gonna be a $175. Yep. Is what it, what it is. And, uh, it is all the detail of a, of a Huck. Yeah. It's all there. It's 11. It's, so the sheet size is 11 by 15. So we've done this sort of thing, not in a Christmas way before. About two or three years ago, I decided to do, uh, a baseball themed print because opening day. Everybody in St. Louis cashes in on opening day. Mm-hmm. It's a huge deal. And so I was like, well, I wanna cash in on this shit too. What could I do? And so I came up with this image of a, it's called Bird Battle, and it was a of a cardinal. Fighting a blue Jay. Okay. And because they were opening, opening day was the Cardinals against That's awesome. Against the Blue Jays. That's what we did was we just made that print available on opening day. Mm-hmm. Between the hours of 10 and three and people ca people were lined up out on the street to get it. Oh my God. That's awesome. It was very surprising. I mean, Megan. Badger, there's a shout out to Badger. Uh, she helped me put that all together and we were just blown away by the demand of it. And so I always wanted to do that again. I don't want to do every single opening day, because especially in St. Louis, you can only go to that well so often. Mm-hmm. People, people start taking that stuff for granted. So Christmas is different though, because people have multiple reasons to go shop for stuff. For themselves, for their loved ones, for their loved ones, or that are fans of mine, or mm-hmm. People that want something that know that they can afford it. You know? So that's sort of why we we're, we're bringing that back. We are gonna do a Christmas print every year, because now Darcy is mm-hmm. You are helping me to organize everything Yes. In the, the structure of Evil Prints. And so. Yeah, it's St. Cataclysmic and the giant rat. It will be available on to the public on December 13th. Now what else? What am I missing there? So there will be, I think, what, 15 available if you are out of state, that are reserved ahead of time, that if you can't come right to the vault space Yes. On that, on Saturday the 13th. Correct. December. There's only December, only 15 December because again, we can, we're printing 50, right? We're we're, there will be at evil on evilprints.com. You got a shot at 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM It'll be live the same time as we are open in person, right at the vault space. And also p You can reserve it. So what you gotta do is you gotta go to evil prints.com and you gotta look on the page and it'll say at the header's, uh, 2025 x-mas print. And the her email is attached to that. You can reserve and pay ahead of time and pick up at the correct event on Saturday the 13th. Yes. Or, or. WW if you decide, if you say to Darcy, Hey, I would like to get one of these and I live in Saudi Arabia, well, then what Darcy's gonna do is like, you send an email to Darcy and she'll explain the goddamn thing. This is getting too complicated. I know, that's what I was saying. December 13th. Come to St. Louis. That's how you get the print. That should be the main yes. Way to get it the way in person on the 13th so you can get the print in person at the vault space. 29. 29 South Jefferson, south Jefferson in St. Louis on December 13th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Correct. If you do not live in the state, see the show notes and you can send me an email. We're gonna send out a couple more announcements beforehand, you know, that it's coming up to remind people. Uh, we've already got a big, we got a big response on just Yes. A couple little emails. We've gotta get some observing, couple of social media things that we've put out. So it should be, it should be. I would imagine we're probably gonna sell out. I think I, yeah, I think it's likely. Yep. So Darcy's gonna have a lot of work to do with shipping and tubing. Yes. And all kinds of that bullshit. But we've got a lot of printing still to do. Yeah. It's like the Santas fucking elves are getting ready for the holiday. I know. Poor, poor Jacob Jacob's gonna arrive here in a couple hours and he is going to be. In print la la land for the next 48 hours. Yeah. And I also might try to snag him to come down here and rerecord the dolly episode. Oh yeah, we have another Dolly episode. We had some technical problems, Dolly, and the whole thing. Oh my God. Kill me. Don't really knock on wood, but like, let's not, let's not, yeah. Lots of technical problems. It is. Uh, boy. Okay. This is a short and sweet one. So what else? Short and sweet. What else do we need? Now you know how to get the print. You can always go to evilprints.com, look at the headers, and it'll tell you all you need to know about a lot of different things. That's right. The podcast in general. Podcast, the website, which you would know because you're hearing it right. But there are, there will be a lot more things dropping via the podcast. Things we have coming up, like memberships and other Woodcut bootcamp. Woodcut bootcamp. We still have, I think, four spots available, regular. We have four spots available for that. And we have one spot left in Advanced Advanced Woodcut Bootcamp. Is there anything, so we, we should probably throw something else in there as a little bonus to talk about. Is there anything you wanna you wanna know about? I'm putting you on the spot. Oh, you can ask me anything. Ask Huck anything. Okay. So just for Darcy here, let's go ahead and give a little promo because I did wanna tell people about Ask Huck anything we are going to open up for submissions where you can literally ask Huck about anything art related, personal, uh, anything, music, taste, you know, anything. Yes. So here's a little promo of the type of questions. Here's a little tidbit. Oh, anything you can ask me. Anything. I know, I always do. Anyway, so I know this has been, so I'm like, what do the people wanna know? This has been going on for years. Yes. Insider scoop. Um, okay, boy, what is stump the chump? Now you ask if you. Marry. Fuck. Kill Donald Trump. If I what? Marry, fuck. Kill. Have you ever played this game? No. I'm gonna give you three people. Marry one of them. You have to marry. Fuck one of 'em. You have to fuck one of 'em. You have to kill. Well, one of, well, aren't you fucking the one you married? No. It's different than that. Think about it. One person, you're like, all right, I'll have a one night rendezvous with them. But the other person, you're like, I have to commit to living a life with them. Okay. All right. Okay. Alright. Gimme. This is Wayne Donald Trump. Yeah. I already know where Adam one's going. Um, Kamala Harris. Newt Gingrich. Oh my God. Well, God, well, what I would do is I would tie up Newt. To Donald Trump and then fuck Kamala. Make them watch and then kill 'em. Marry Kamala and kill the other two. Okay. How about, I think Kamala's kind of hot man. She's, she is. She's awesome. She's a badass. She's totally cool, man. I like her. Um. Worst movie you've ever seen? The Worst movie? Yes. Okay. Okay. Um, it, I wish I could remember what it was. It is not that long ago. It's a movie with, what's that dude from Goodwill Hunting, but not Matt Damon. Uh, Ben Affleck. Ben Affleck, and it's a train. It's on a train where he's trying to stop the train. Ben Affleck on a train. I'm not familiar with this. It was out like two or three years ago, maybe five years ago, but it, we watched it. If you wanna watch the dumbest fucking movie ever made, that's probably up there. Okay. Was it Ben Affleck? I don't know. I think it was all, it's coming up as his, uh, Batman training. No. Was it called Forces? Nope. That's a romantic comedy from 1999. Forces of Training forces, forces of Nature is what came up. Batman training, what is this train wreck? Yeah. 2006. Yes. Ben Affleck. Jeff Anderson. Rosario Dawson. It is the dumbest movie I've ever seen. Train Wreck. It's so dumb. I can't remember much about it, man. So there you go. Okay. Train wreck. Now. I'm pretty sure that was the name of it that I think, yeah, it's, I'm pretty sure that was stupid. Um, you know what, some people, most people know it's about me. I hate law and order. I did not know that. And Jen watches it every night. Going to sleep. And it's not that I hate what, I hate that show so much like rooting for the bad guys. Like oh my God, hoping that the worst serial killing oh my god, awful criminals. I root for them to get off because I cannot. Stomach, Marissa Hargitay or whatever.

Darcy:

Oh my God.

Huck:

She is the worst actress, actress that I've, she, I can't stand her on the screen. I root for her to die every episode and happens. And there are a couple, they're like about 10 of them. Where she got abducted? No, she got almost, she got shot and I'm like, is this the one? Finally they're gonna kill this terrible character. She is awful. She is that show though, she's terrible. And her mom? Mm-hmm. Is Jane Mansfield. Yeah.

Darcy:

She just did a documentary about that.

Huck:

It's probably the best thing she's ever gonna do, doing something about somebody else.

Darcy:

She was young when her mom died.

Huck:

She was in the car when her mom got decapitated.

Darcy:

Oh, I forgot about that.

Huck:

She was like three. She was very little. You know those bars that you see on the back of semis? Mm-hmm. Those are Jane Mansfield bars. That's why they instituted them because she went underneath the back of the car and it cut her head off.

Darcy:

Yikes Spikes.

Huck:

Yikes Spikes. Yeah. I can't stand law and order. It's stupid. Dude. Did you know who the best person on Law and order is? Who the best actor? Ice TI was about to ask. He's great. He's hilarious. He saves the whole fucking thing. Or, and BD Wong, I guess I haven't watched in a while. He's the psychiatrist on there that comes in to the criminal, like he's a criminal psychiatrist or something. Be, I haven't, haven't watched him forever. Beatie. We watch it every fuck night.

Darcy:

Love that. That's what Jen goes to bed too.

Huck:

Yeah, either that are serial killer movies and I'm slasher flicks and I'm fading off and people are getting decapitated. That's how I go down at night.

Darcy:

I do like to watch a lot of murder shows, like documentaries right now, my favorite one,

Huck:

nobody wants to hear what you think.

Darcy:

Huck. My shows are great.

Huck:

I know, I know.

Darcy:

You're so sassy today.

Huck:

I am. I'm cool because it took 10 hours to get set up for you to

Darcy:

Well, then I should be sassy.

Huck:

I was sitting here like on the couch waiting for you to, and I'm like falling asleep. I'm like, she missed her window.

Darcy:

That was really sad.

Huck:

So I just woke up really from a goddamn nap and goddamn nap.

Darcy:

Well, I must have been nice. I was over here clicking buttons like a moron.

Huck:

I know, I know. Well, what are your shows?

Darcy:

Well, right now I really like cold cases. With, uh, what's her name? Kelly. Kelly. Somebody. She's, she's from Texas.

Huck:

I thought you meant Kelly Clarkson. I didn't know she was doing murder shit.

Darcy:

No she's definitely not. I think she's mostly just inviting guests on her,

Huck:

her, those commercials. Wayfair.

Darcy:

Oh, she is?

Huck:

Isn't that her?

Darcy:

And then this is my favorite one that my family hates. it is called Love After Lockup. It's so bad. It's so good.

Huck:

Love, love After Lockup.

Darcy:

It's a reality show about people who come outta prison. Oh, man. And their relationships. Either some of 'em had their relationship before they went in, or they met the prisoner. Oh, yeah. Through writing in. Oh man. Each, if you ever wanna feel good about your life and your decisions,

Huck:

has a friend who marries.

Darcy:

You said marries as in con

Huck:

convict. She's been married multiple times to dudes in prison.

Darcy:

Holy smokes.

Huck:

Of all those kinds of shows I loved. Couples therapy.

Darcy:

Oh, I never watched that one.

Huck:

Where they would put him in like a big brother style house. Oh yeah. And they intense couples therapy. This one dude one time, because he was in his guys group, with the others, with the other guys, they split the groups up. And so they were doing like bro therapy right on half of them while the women were doing chick therapy. Mm-hmm. And this dude was like, I think I figured out what would make this. The situation go better. And his friend's sitting there by him, you know, and he's like, Hey, what's that? He's like, I think I should bring in to our next therapy. The woman I had the affair with, oh my God. With his wife there. And this, his friend was like, Hey, this is not gonna work out like you think it is. Please don't do this. He's like, I really have a good feeling about it. Oh my gosh. It would expedite the healing part. And the guy's like, Hey man. This is not gonna work. And he did it and wigs were torn off. That's great. Brawl cameramen were attacked. It was fucking great. That's great. I do wanna watch that one now. Oh yeah. Jen and I watched that. I was like dying. I was like, and everybody, I'm sure everyone was like, Hey man, don't do that. Don't do it. I love watching the train wrecks of, of some reality television. Some, but some. I'm kind of soured on all of it now. Well, a lot of it, I don't have the time. I like, I, I don't wanna watch like the Housewives or any of that anymore. I hate those. There. Why are any of these people, there's a show where drag queens go into haunted houses with devices to try and record. That's awesome. I don't know. It's only on YouTube. I wanna find it. It looks great. That is awesome. Because they're like to, you have a big dick to the ghost. I like waiting for it to respond. Like, do you think I'm hot? I was like, this I will watch, Jim likes to watch that ghost hunting show. Oh yeah. I can't watch that by myself though. I get scared. Some of these things, like I get too scared about ghosts, man. I've never seen one where I thought, okay, that's real. They definitely found a ghost real. That's never one. It's always like some like fart from 10 miles away that shows up on the most heist sensitive. Yeah. You know what I, I watched last night though, and we're gonna end after this, just so you know, Uhhuh. So we gotta end on an uplifting note. Oh, okay. You know what? I watched what? The Titan Submersible documentary. Oh, I did watch that. That was great. Oh, I watched it on YouTube.

Darcy:

Oh my gosh. The ti, the Titanic just keeps taking people.

Huck:

It wasn't in, in, it was an instant. There was at least a second or two where they knew they were fucked.

Darcy:

Oh, like here in a pop? Yeah, because they were trying to drop weight to go back up.

Huck:

Yeah. Yeah. So they knew something was going wrong and they waited too long. And you look at that motherfucker, they did a whole documentary about like, oh. Would you sit in that for five hours? No. Cross-legged for five hours?

Darcy:

No,

Huck:

to go down there. There's something I don't understand who the fuck wants to see the Titanic now. Why would you wanna go down there? It's been so documented. I, yeah. People have already done that. There are so, so James Cameron took care of that. There's so many documentaries out there. Why do you need and to go down there? And the guy that ran that company, he was a, was a shyster man.

Darcy:

Yeah, he was, he really just thought nothing bad would happen.

Huck:

And there were, he's like the underwater Trump. Yeah. He's like delusional. He literally completely delusional.

Darcy:

Well, it was the hull was the reason that it. Exploded. The crack in the hull. It, that already happened once. And they took it off and they realized, they were like, oh shit, there's so much damage in here. More than we thought. And then they replaced it with the same stuff that was clearly breaking every time they heard a pop.

Huck:

And I didn't know this until last night. There was a toilet in there.

Darcy:

What?

Huck:

There's a toilet in it right in the front. You could, and it's in the floor. Holy crap. Can you imagine? Going down there to, and just, is there any like separation that somebody taking a shit and you're just in that, in that environment

Darcy:

and it's just compressed shit with you?

Huck:

Yeah. Do you know, they just got in front of people,

Darcy:

sucked out and vaporized

Huck:

in front of people, so there was no, no, no privacy. That was just like an emergency situation. There's that room for privacy curtain. That thing was a like a a,

Darcy:

oh my God.

Huck:

It was like a toilet paper tube that people are going down in.

Darcy:

You just shouldn't be out that long if that's what you got going on.

Huck:

How about not going?

Darcy:

Yeah, number one, the sea is frightening enough,

Huck:

but it was like that. It was fascinating.

Darcy:

That's what happens when you don't respect nature.

Huck:

It's what happens when you think you, you are invincible. Yeah, because you're rich. All right, on that note. Christmas print, December 13th. It'll be available in person at the vault. 29 29 South Jefferson, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM one day only. One per customer. That's it. Enough

Darcy:

bye. Say bye Huck.

Huck:

God damnit. Bye. All right.
